Einscheiben-Sicherheits-Glas (ESG)

Was ist ESG?

ESG ist Spiegel- oder Spiegelrohglas, das erhöhte Temperaturwechselbeständigkeit, erhöhte Schlag- und Stoßfestigkeit und erhöhte Biegebruchfestigkeit aufweist. Aus diesem Grund kann es auch als Konstruktionselement verwendet werden. Bei Scheibenbruch löst sich die gesamte Scheibe in ein Netz von Bruchstücken auf, die überwiegend stumpfkantig sind, und untereinander lose zusammenhängen. Dadurch werden ernsthafte Verletzungen ausgeschlossen. Diese Eigenschaften des Glases beruhen auf seiner Vorspannung.

Die Herstellung

ESG wird nach dem Zuschneiden, der Kantenbearbeitung und den erforderlichen Glasausschnitten und Lochbohrungen gleichmäßig auf ca. 700 Grad Celsius erhitzt und anschließend mit Kaltluft konvektiv abgeschreckt, wodurch in der ganzen Scheibe ein Zustand innerer Spannung aufgebaut wird. Beim Abkühlen bleibt die Kernzone im Glasquerschnitt warm, während die Oberflächen schnell erkalten. Dadurch entstehen dort Druckspannungen, während sich im Inneren ein Zugspannungszustand einstellt.

Die Eigenschaften

Schlagfestigkeit, weicher Stoß
Gegen den Stoß von weichen, verformbaren Körpern nach DIN 52337 (Pen schlagversuch an Glas für bauliche A gen) ist ESG aus Floatglas oder Spiegelrohglas für Glasdicke ab 6 mm in der Lage, Stoßenergie 120Nm ohne Bruch aufzunehmen.

Schlagfestigkeit, harter Stoß
Gegen den Stoß eines harten Körper nach DIN 52337 (Pendelschlagversuch an Glas für bauliche Anlagen) ist ESG aus Floatglas oder Spiegelrohglas auch für Glasdicken 6mm in der Lage, Stoßenergien bis90 ohne Bruch aufzunehmen.

Biegebruchfestigkeit
(nach DIN 52303, Teil 1) Bb=120 N/n Bei statischen Berechnungen für Windlasten und waagerechte Verkehrslasten (nach DIN 1055) gilt für die zulässige Biegespannung unter Berücksichtigung eines Sicherheitsbeiwertes der Rechenwert von 50N/mm².

Ballwurfsicherheit
Nach DIN 18032 „Prüfung auf Ballwurfsicherheit“ eignet sich ESG in großzügigen Glasanwendung für Turn- und Spielhallen. Vom Materialprüfungsamt Baden Württemberg (FMPA, Stuttgart) liegen folgende Prüfungsbericht vor:
Druckfestigkeit 700-900 N/m²
Elastizitätsmodul: E = 6,8 x 104 N/mm².

Wärme- und Kälteeinflüsse
ESG kann ganzflächig einer Dauertemperatur bis zu +200 Grad ausgesetzt sein. Die Resistenz gegenüber Temperaturgradienten in der Scheibenfläche, z.B. zwischen der Scheibenmitte und dem Scheibenrand, ist bis 150K gegeben

Die bauphysikalischen Eigenschaften: Lichtdurchlässigkeit, Wärmeleitvermögen, thermische Ausdehnung, Schalldämmung sowie chemische Eigenschaften entsprechen denen des Basisglases
